Walch Wildlife Area

This large 303-acre tract features numerous prairie pothole marshes, vast upland nesting sites, and a scenic stream. This unique example of Iowa's pre-settlement landscape was purchased by the cooperative funding efforts of the Iowa Natural Heritage Foundation, Ducks Unlimited, Pheasants Forever, and the conservation board. Located 2 miles south of Burchinal on blacktop S-34 and 1 mile west on 190th Street.
